Inaugural Charity Golf Day

Inaugural Charity Golf Day

Wednesday 21 May 2014, Weald of Kent Golf Club, Headcorn

The sun was just about shining when 18 teams of golfers met at the beautiful Weald of Kent Golf Course to play in the first Charity Golf Day raising money for MAPS.  Organised by treasurer Paul Rudd, the teams of 4 set out on a breakfast of bacon rolls to play 18 holes of 'competitive' golf!  The weather was kind, and all the teams made it back before the heavens opened.  A few drinks in the bar were followed by a celebration meal, and, more importantly, the prize giving and raffle!

Huge congratulations to Tony Day's team (Tony, David Pead, Joe Hodgkinson & John Gower) who won the day with an overall score of 138, and also to Chris Dawson, winner of Nearest The Pin.  The raffle was then drawn, and prizes such as a golf bag, Fortnum & Mason afternoon tea hamper and wine tasting were quickly snapped up.

We are delighted to announce that the day raised over £2000, which will enable us to provide some fantastic activities for our families.

We would like to thank The Weald of Kent Golf Club for their hospitality, our raffle sponsors Allianz Group Assistance, Hush Heath Winery, Staplehurst Chiropractic & Biddenden Vineyards, and finally all our golfers for their incredible generosity!

We look forward to seeing you again in 2016!
